1.1 Beta Simulator Updates and Overview

Note that if your charts already have decimal places selected, this setting will not override them. This article addresses the web-based simulator platform that is currently in beta mode. If you have come across this page while looking for information about the desktop simulator platform WT Sim, please go here instead.

Beta testers can use this page to stay informed of beta platform updates and future plans. Read on, or click from the list below to jump ahead:

Goals of the Beta Test

The current goals for beta testing are to confirm that:

  • All order types are working and executing correctly with realistic logic
  • All hotkeys and settings work as expected, and quickly
  • All widgets integrate and connect
    • With pop-out windows
    • At peak market hours
    • The global rainbow color link works with all widgets and windows quickly and as expected
  • The platform is stable overall
  • Metrics, accounts, and positions are accurate
  • The Metrics Reset and Buying Power changes function correctly.

NOTE: The simulator requires increased CPU, Memory and Network Bandwidth compared to our DTD platform, due to the additional tick data required to support Level 2. We will be updating the minimum system requirements soon. It will be very important that you are using a recent gaming laptop/computer or Macbook Pro.

You will likely experience order delays and platform stability issues if you overload the platform with widgets or try to use the simulator alongside other trading platforms and our DTD platform.

For the best experience please hardwire your computer directly to your router and use the simulator as a standalone platform.

Computer (Hardware)

While the chat room / Day Trade Dash platform can be accessed via mobile and tablet browsers, logging in via a computer will allow you the best experience.

Recommended Specifications:

• Processor:  16 Cores / 24 Threads (or more)

• Memory: Minimum 32 GB of RAM

• Operating System: 64-bit Windows 11, or Latest MacOS

• Monitor Resolution: 2560 × 1440 (2k)  or 3840x2160 (4k UHD)

• Hard Drive: 100GB free space

• Internet: minimum 100 Mbps download speed and at least 15 Mbps upload speed

• Suggested Minimum Ping Time: 20-50ms

Important Notice: The Minimum Computer Specifications listed below can adequately support a simple setup, like 1-2 monitors and a limited use of widgets and pop out windows. If you begin to notice a delay or latency in your experience, you will need to reduce the number of pop out windows and widgets or upgrade your computer system to the Recommended Specifications listed above.

Minimum Computer Specifications:

To find processor core/threads, check the computer manufacturer's site, which will list all computer specs, including processor model, i.e., (Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 275HX). A Google search on the chip name for total cores and total threads will also help to identify these numbers.
